Review of Approved Education Programs

Guided by the Approval of Education Programs Policy (2017), the College introduced a robust review and assessment process to approve and monitor programs on the approved education programs list. Graduates from approved programs are considered to have met the education requirement for registration.

Updated Registration Forms and Guides

The College undertook a comprehensive review of all registration related forms and developed extensive online guides to support applicants and members in completing the updated forms. New and revised questions on applicant and renewal forms serve to bolster the College’s efforts to obtain more robust data for systematic analysis.

Assessment by the Office of the Fairness Commissioner

As part of its continuous improvement strategy the Office of the Fairness Commissioner (OFC) conducted a full assessment of the College’s registration practices in relation to the duties outlined in the Fair Access to Regulated Professions and Compulsory Trades Act, 2006. In its final report the OFC did not identify any gaps in the College’s current practices and commended the College for its work in 10 areas that go beyond the minimum standards.

The outcomes of Office of the Fairness Commissioners’ report demonstrates the College’s commitment to the principles of fairness, transparency, objectivity and impartiality in registration practices. – Cynthia Abel RECE, Director of Registration
